Our Therapy Services
Integrated and holistic therapy services tailored to youIndividual Therapy
Curo takes a holistic approach to individual therapy. Meaningful change means movement from chaos, disconnection, and distress to a trajectory of beauty, connection, and creativity. The word we use to describe this type of change is integration. Integration is the differentiation and linkage of thoughts, feelings, memories, narratives, and neural connections leading to improved health and functioning. Evidence-based tools, techniques, and approaches can do more than help us cope; they can help us integrate and thrive.
Our therapists use a number of models tailored to the individual. They include EMDR, CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based treatments. These research backed approaches are based in interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, family systems theory, internal family systems theory, and adaptive information processing model. Your therapist will work with you to identify the best course of treatment for your desired growth. Our therapists treat unresolved trauma, developmental trauma, complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, dissociative disorders, and other mental health concerns.
Couples Therapy
Our couples therapists utilize evidence-based models such as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman relational therapy to assist couples with identifying cycles of disconnection and experientially re-wiring new ways of engaging. EFT is a therapy model based on attachment theory, and it restores the connection between two people in a relationship. Gottman relational theory involves nine concepts that can be used to strengthen relationships and connections. For example: Enactments are used to increase emotional bonds and create new cycles and patterns in your relationship.
With couples therapy from Curo, you and your partner will be closer than ever before. You will form deep emotional bonds and strengthen your connection. You will have the tools to solve any other problems that arise on your own, but Curo couples therapists are always here to help if needed. Couples therapy can range from shorter term therapy to longer term support depending on your goals and desires for your relationship.
Intensives
Intensives are an innovative therapy option designed to be effective and efficient at moving clients through specific stuck pain points. Curo offers two types of Intensives: The EMDR intensive addresses unresolved single-episode traumas or complex relational traumas. While offered in weekly individual therapy as well, EMDR intensives provide an especially efficient and consolidated experience of trauma treatment that often yield noticeable results quickly.
Curo also offers Partnership intensives for couples healing from trauma and/or those looking to prepare for a deeper level of commitment including marriage. Clients are engaged by a skilled couples therapist who assists them with assessment, relational skill-building, and attachment-based trauma work as necessary for healing and the creation of healthy bonds. Within a few extended sessions, couples can expect to develop better communication skills, experience deeper connection, and develop the tools to address problems that arise as they continue to grow their relationship.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy Services
How long will I need to be in therapy?
How often are therapy sessions?
Most clients see our therapists once every week or every two weeks. The frequency of your therapy sessions is unique to your issues and schedule.
How long is each therapy session?
Are therapy sessions in-person or virtual?
You will contract with your therapist around the format of therapy that will work best for you. We offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions depending on need and availability. We aim to be flexible to provide you with the best care possible.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Everything you tell our therapists in session is confidential, with a few exceptions. If you tell our therapists that you are going to harm yourself or if you demonstrate you are a danger to someone else, your therapist has a legal duty as a “mandated reporter” to notify the police and/or a legal guardian if you or a minor is involved. Abuse or neglect of a child reported to a therapist must be reported to Child Protective Services as a matter of legal statute. If you would like your therapist to speak with anyone about your care including other practitioners or your insurance company, you will have the opportunity to fill out a “release of information” form to provide written permission. This permission can be revoked at any time.
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
Our therapists have various areas of focus and specialty. When you contact us for an appointment, our skilled intake coordinator will do a basic needs assessment and will match you with the best therapist for your unique needs.
