About Curo Counseling

Leading the Way in Holistic Mental Health Services

At Curo, we envision a world where everyone feels felt, seen, and known. A world where trauma is transformed into empowerment. We are guided by the idea that everyone deserves love, kindness, dignity and respect. Our expert services in our Virginia based practice reflect this. We are also guided by the idea that people are interdependent, so we consider the other in everything we do. Curo clinicians see creativity as a key indicator of mental health and wellness. Through evidence-based therapy, we help our clients move past surviving to thriving. Our mission is to equip clients for a life of freedom, empowerment and creativity. All of our therapy and consulting services are intentionally designed to realize these goals and values.

Curo Treatment Approach

Our Evidence-based Treatment Methods

Curo Counseling believes in a holistic approach to mental health care. All of our treatment methods are evidence-based and founded on the latest research. Techniques and methodologies include EMDR, IFS, DBT, EFT, IPNB, Somatic work.

EMDR is particularly helpful for reprocessing and healing from trauma including developmental trauma and complex PTSD. EFT is an experiential therapy utilized for both couples and individuals to address patterns that arise from attachment wounding. IFS is utilized to create integrated coherence and heal from unresolved trauma causing anxiety and depression.

Not all treatment methods are appropriate for all clients. Our therapists are skilled at collaborating with you to determine the best treatment plan and path forward to address your unique journey.
